US Highways Traffic Sign - Shapes
For any written state driver licence exam -- you will be required to know the highway sign shapes. Make sure that you are able to identify the STOP, YIELD, RAILROAD, and SCHOOL sign shapes.

Driver's Licence Test - Tips
Before you begin to drive - be prepared to complete the following tasks that may be assigned to you by the officer-in-charge of your driving test:
  • Turn on your vehicle's head-lights including full-beam
  • Depress the foot-pedal break to check your vehicle's rear stop-lights
  • Turn on your vehicle's left and right turn indicators - they may be checked front and rear
  • Turn on your vehicle's hazard lights - (front and rear turn indicators flashing at the same time)
  • Activate your vehicle's hand-brake or foot-brake (this will depend on your vehicle type)
  • Activate your vehicle's horn
Make sure that all these vehicle component's work as designed. If any component does not function or a vehicle tail-light is broken or cracked -- you will be asked to fix it before you are able to take the actual driving test.

Remember -- the most important part of the driving test is coming to a "complete" stop/halt at a STOP sign or traffic-light on red. Failure to do so will result in an test retake.

As a matter of common courtesy -- make sure you address the officer as "Sir", "Ma'am", or "Officer."
