"Get outta here, I've been working in telecommunications 10 years and I've never had to worry about Frame Color-Codes. Never even noticed them, anyhow."
Okay - so someone tells you to go into Communication Closet A2 on the Second Floor and pull the second jumper or cross-connect on a yellow color-coded 110 Patch Panel.
"Oh, and by the way - when you're done - go home for the weekend."
Whoa, I'm outta here - piece of cake, right?
What if you came back to work on Monday to discover that the Communication Closet along with the entire building had ceased to exist.
Whether you knew it or not - you were told to pull the cross-connect to the Fire Alarm.
Think it would be safe to say that you would never work in telecommunications again.
So, it might be worth your while to get a handle on the Frame Color-Codes so that you are not doing things that might adversely impact your employer or your career.
Think before you act - don't blindly follow instructions.
The keyword is communication in telecommunications.
If you're unsure of what's going on - communicate it. Leave your ego at home. |
